Last year, I found this beautiful vintage jacket in my favorite small antique shop in Paris (my secret forever).

Sometimes, I buy some clothe because I love it, even thought it's too big or too small, not my style... Simply fascinated by the old time knowledge and design. And this piece was actually too too big for me.
Well, as I never wear it, I decided to sell it in my Etsy shop. It's such a pity it stays hanging in my closet gathering dust.
So I searched some infos about it.
All I had was the label saying: "AQUASOL, déposé, Par tous les temps, 2 rue du Pont Neuf, Paris" And logo initials "BJ".
Thanx to the internet, I found out that the brand is "A La Belle Jardinère".
And the shop started very small in 1824 in Paris and closed huge in 1970. It sold clothing for middle class French, school uniforms, providing the army too.
I also found a pdf of the catalog, giving me a time of production of my adored jacket: the Aquasol collection was created in 1913 and stopped in 1936. How surprising! I thought it was from the 40's.
The whole history of this maybe 100 years old jacket made me reconsider selling it.
I'm keeping it, and as a piece of art, I'll frame it.

L'année dernière, j'ai trouvé cette belle veste vintage dans ma brocante préférée de Paris (mon secret pour toujours).

Parfois, j'achète un vêtement juste parce que je l'aime, qu'il soit trop grand ou petit, qu'il ne soit pas mon style... Fascinée par un savoir-faire et un design ancien. C'était le cas pour cette pièce, malheureusement trop trop grande pour moi.

Quoiqu'il en soit, je ne la mets jamais et je décide de la vendre dans ma boutique Etsy.

Tellement dommage qu'elle reste dans mon armoire à prendre la poussière.

Alors je cherche des infos à son sujet.

Voici ce que dit l'étiquette: "AQUASOL, déposé, Par tous les temps, 2 rue du Pont Neuf, Paris" et le logo en initiales "BJ".

Grâce à internet, je retrouve la marque: "A La Belle Jardinère".

Le magasin commença petit en 1824 et cessa son activité florissante en 1970. On y vendait des vêtements pour la classe moyenne française, des uniformes d'écoliers, et il fournissait aussi l'armée.

J'ai notamment trouvé le catalogue en pdf qui m'a donné une période de production pour cette veste: la collection Aquasol fut créée en 1913 et s'acheva en 1936. Surprise! J'étais presque sûre qu'elle datait des années 40.

L'histoire des origines de cette veste de peut-être 100 ans m'a fait changer d'avis, je ne la vendrais pas.

Je la garde, comme un objet d'art et je la ferai encadrer.

Blin est le nom de l'ancien propriétaire de cette veste. Un parmi d'autres j'imagine.
